WebMar 2, 2004 · the berger 140, JLK 140 (B model) and the Clinch River 135 and 147 are much better bullets. Just got the 135 CR to test and I think that they will be as good if not better than the 147 CR. There is no comparison when you compare tolerances for weight and base to ogive. Plus as VLD bullets they are flatter and hold into the wind better. BH WebNov 13, 2004 · I've used my std load of 50.5gr H4831 to shoot everything from 135gr FB to 147gr Clinch River bullets without varying the load. Only adjusting the seating depth for each bullet. I've got load data for H4350, IMR4831, R22, IMR7828, H1000, and R25 also if needed. But those numbers aren't right on top of my head.

The unmodified bullets grouped in the 5″ range and the modified meplats grouped around 2.5″ with about half the vertical.
