Initially, Morrigan was to be the "cute" female character of the title, while Felicia would be the "sexy" female character. WebLilith, whose name was inspired by the mythological Lilith, was designed as a female character but Darkstalkers 3 scenario writer/planner Haruo Murata wanted her to be a hermaphrodite angel or a male demon with shorter hair and a completely flat chest; when the game was released, the character's gender was officially listed as "unknown".
