Hierarchical noise

Web8 de ago. de 2024 · The key advantage of the hierarchical approach is that it uses information across groups of observations to reduce our lower-level parameters’ sensitivity to noise. To demonstrate how this improves our estimates, this post compares a hierarchical model to a so-called unpooled model. WebIn this paper, the hierarchical cosine similarity entropy (HCSE) is proposed for feature extraction of ship-radiated noise. The presented algorithm takes advantages of both hierarchical decomposition and CSE. By analyzing synthetic signals, a set of parameters for computing the HCSE is recommended.
