I recently attempted the same setup for my wife's iphone but got tricked into selecting the "HEIC" option for upload. WebUsed OneDrive for iPhone until last yr as photo backup and decided to us an alternative. At that time I deleted all pics in OneDrive & deleted app. ... and if you delete from onedrive, the camera upload feature in the app will not re-upload the same file to your onedrive. I find this incredibly insane!
